Setting Goals is My Self-Care

As you rang in the New Year, you had hopes for the year and plans to improve this year over last year. It's time for a check-up. Seasons are changing and it is time to re-evaluate and refocus. Take some time to reflect on what went well and areas for improvement. To do this, dedicate 15-minutes to thinking and listing at least 10-20 things that have gone well so far this year. Try to identify at least 10 different things. Next, take 5-minutes to identify things that haven't gone well. Notice, how quickly you can rattle off what hasn't gone well. With these lists, identify one thing to focus on in the next 30-60 days. Set a SMART goal, execute, and evaluate your progress weekly.

Remember, self-care doesn't look one way. Self-care is caring for the total person, the unique and total you.
